The Red Funnel Easter Regatta saw a short-handed and younger than usual crew (combined age probably somewhere near Jim's) eager to show up the regular Flair IV crew. On the first day the lighter boats in the class took advantage of the light winds and left us with some disappointing results (7, 8) despite some cracking starts by Joe on the helm (even though the rest of the crew may not have always trusted him!). Clearly room for improvement. On the Saturday the wind was still light, but steady. This, with the added incentive of Jim on the side deck as a witness, led us to take 1st in both races. Oh, and if anyone was wondering, that was ahead of Quokka :) Light shifty winds again on Sunday didn't make for another great days sailing, but was enough to give a 4th and a 3rd (and another one up on Quokka). The results on the first day pushed up our overall score, but it was still good enough to give 2nd overall. A good result for the crew and a free bar after the prize giving meant a good weekend was had by all. Congrats to the team and a big thank you from all the crew to Jim for being stupi... err, kind enough to let us use the boat. Dan "long jump" Vickers
