Well it's currently a case of did we or didn't we get another second! The published results show that were third by one second from the Gul supported Fairview Racing but we KNOW that we beat her and have evidence from other competitors that she crossed the line some two minutes behind her published time. So for the second week in a row we take silver behind the Elan 37 Quokka, a great result for the Slovenian yacht builders and Humphreys Designs. More wind from the SE saw us going to the start with our heavy Sanders no.1 (black is fast!) and a full main. A few crew transfers saw the return of regular trimmers Gary (from Venice) and Jules (from Cuba), pit-dolly Lorna (from Venice)and bowman Ian (from France). Mast man Mark was transfered (perhaps temporarily??!!) to mainsheet and new lad Chris was installed at mast. With Mrs Mac calling the shots from the back corner and the junior daughter Kate bringing wind spotting skills we started toward the committee boat end and made an early break offshore. Quokka and Assassin favoured the shoreline and it was this three that came together at the first windward mark. With never more than a few boatlengths between us it was the same around the remainder of the course, all three slowly pulling away from the rest of the fleet. The crews on the leading three put in sterling work around the marks to ensure that no-one could make the break and the order at the line was Quokka, Assassin and Flair IV. Assassin had failed to make up her time on the other two and so the leaderboard had a rather familiar look about it! A two week break now until race 3. Have a great Easter everybody!!
