For the first time since the Warsash Spring Series, the ole whcrew of Flair IV finally got back on the 40 footer, having spent time successfully campaigning her little sister, the Elan 37, in the Rolex Commodores Cup qualification series. What a reunion it was! A great start from the middle of the line saw a quick hoist of the assymetric and a cracking reach down to the Needles, with most of the larger class boats surrounding us. A nip inside the Varvasi and a lot of rock dodging saw us still amongst the Kers and Primas around St Catherines and with an early hoist of the assymetric we locked into a good reach with Salvo, the Sydney 36, down to Bembridge. A peel to the all purpose spinnaker followed by a quick gybe to lay No Mans Land fort and a solid run to the finish saw us finish second in class behind the very well rated Swan 48, Jacobite, and 49th overall. Not bad for a reunion sail!
