Dear All,
After a very hectic summer, it is only now that I have found enough time for a "Flair IV" bulletin.
It has been a good year to date, with the £50,000+ raised for The Meningitis Research Foundation being one of the highlights (finishing 14th in class in the Rolex Fastnet Race). We will be continuing the relationship with the MRF and the guys who helped raise the dosh.
"Flair IV" becomes "Kier Building with Flair" for the Winter and Spring Series with some of the Kier Management and their clients sailing with us in each race.
Race one of the Hamble River SC Tyco Winter Series gave 26 knots gusting over 30 and with wind over tide conditions the wave height helped us to 15+ knot boat speed which is not bad for a 7.8 tonne displacement 40 footer. Well pleased with 2nd to the Ker designed "Sanguma".
Nicky and Lucy came 7th in the 420 Ladies World championships this year (2nd GBR boat) and have qualified 2nd (beating all the men/boys) after 24 races for the Worlds to be held in Melbourne in the 2004 New Year.
Regards,
Jim.
