Dear All, With a pin end bias we ducked and dived with two 40.7s leaving them to push each other over the line while we legged it to the pin at speed to set up a start to finish lead and our biggest win yet by over 5 minutes! Our indifferent gybes of earlier days have now been close to perfect so the "Team" is well chuffed. The force 4/5 SSEly suited us perfectly allowing the flat cut heavy number one (143%) to excel, it is our favourite sail every boat should have one (plug for Peter Sanders 01590 673981). The "Volvo For Life" sponsored Farr 52 "Team Tonic" is leading class 1 with a 2,1,1,1,2 score to our 1,2,1,1,1 so we hope to consolidate a best score on the final race of the series on April 27th. There were 4 winners out of the Moody stable this week with Martin Moody continuing to help the Sigma 38 "Highland Spirit" to a convincing class win. The Poole based "Frenesi of Clynder" a beautiful McGruer Yawl won IRC4 and leads her class overall. Ian and Lynn had a race they would wish to forget but will look to get their overall improved with a good last race on the 27th. I must leave this now in order to prepare a voyage plan so that Nicky and Lucy and their 420 squad friends can get "Panache" (our Elan333) safely from Hayling Island to Cowes in the dark after their RYA Youth Nationals Prizegiving on Friday evening. They then join us for the RORC Red Funnel Easter Regatta, we are highest rated boat in IRC 2 and believe it or not they are lowest rated in the same class, watch this space for more info. Regards, Jim.
