Designed by Rob Humphreys and built by Elan at their specialist facilities in Slovenia, Flair IV (GBR 1404R), an Elan 40, is a modern cruiser/racer combining a comfortable and spacious cruising interior with a high performance hull and rig. She is as equally suited to long-haul cruising as she is to competitive yacht racing, and has already clocked up some very respectable race results.

The fourth in a successful series of "Flair" yachts owned by Master Mariner Jim Macgregor, Flair IV is raced by an experienced crew who have been sailing together for many years. Although mainly based at Poole Yacht Club, Flair IV spends a significant amount of time in The Solent, competing in events such as the Warsash Spring Series, Red Funnel Easter Regatta, Cowes Week, Round the Island Race and the Hamble Winter Series.

Flair IV competed in the 2003 Rolex Fastnet race, sailed by a crew on behalf of the Meningitis Research Foundation. We're delighted to announce that their efforts have raised over 50,000 for the charity! Click to find out more about the MRF Challenge.
